Dr. Polverino graduated from the University of Florida with a BS degree in Chemistry and Nova Southeastern University in Miami with a degree in Osteopathic Medicine. After practicing medicine for ten years, he led the development of a private multi-specialty medical practice (PCA), located in Virginia. He remained the principal partner, president and CEO of the company overseeing all operations until he sold the business in 2015. Under his direction multiple service lines and businesses were developed including physical therapy, cardiac testing, sleep services, specialty diagnostic services, laser services and a full service retail pharmacy. The organization grew to include multiple medical specialties offered through six sites in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding counties.
Dr. Polverino was one of the founding physicians and remains an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM), located at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in Blacksburg. Currently he serves as a regional medical director with Carilion Clinic.
His expertise includes practice management and business development. He lectures on these topics and provides clerkships in medical business management. He has extensive expertise in medical real estate development and business analysis.
In addition to his medically related business experience he has a 20-year history in real estate, real estate finance and business development. He has been a founder of many investment groups and has participated in many others. Currently he serves as an advisor on various corporate boards providing business direction and insight as needed.
